A HOLE IN MY HEART 35MM WIDE
This is the only print I have from my grandfather’s collection. He was very Ansel Adams inspired. Sweeping landscapes of incalculable scale and high contrast. So it is funny to me that all I have to hold on to by him is this close up and abstract image of a frozen lake. Crystals and air bubbles. I’m not even sure which way he’s have oriented it to be displayed.
I think part of what I hope to do in my Master’s Project at TMU in the coming two years is to try to repair the whole in my heart that is about as wide as the 35mm negatives I was not able to save from my Opa’s body of work.
